Polestar Pilates
Polestar Pilates is a global education and training organization that has been integrating rehabilitation principles with traditional Pilates since 1992, enhancing health, movement, and professional teaching skills.
Founded by Dr. Brent Anderson, a distinguished physical therapist and visionary in blending movement science with Pilates, Polestar’s mission is to promote holistic health and well-being. It unites leading experts in movement science to foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence in Pilates education.
What sets Polestar Pilates apart in the Pilates industry is its scientific foundation. Designed by Dr. Anderson, a physiotherapist and orthopedic specialist, the curriculum is rigorously evidence-based rather than anecdotal. Since its inception, Dr. Anderson and his expert team have continually refined the program, ensuring professional-quality teacher training for all students.
While honoring the original method of Joseph Pilates, Polestar integrates insights from anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and motor control, along with the latest research in orthopedics, sports medicine, and movement science, creating a method that is both authentic and cutting-edge.

Mentorship in Polestar Pilates offers a supportive pathway for teachers and practitioners to deepen their understanding, refine their skills, and enhance teaching confidence. At Embodied Presence, Yee Fen, our founder and educator for Poelstar Pilates with over 20 years of experience, provides personalized guidance through one-on-one, duet, or small-group sessions. Mentees explore the principles of movement, alignment, and, uniquely, somatic and embodiment awareness in real-world teaching scenarios.
Mentorship goes beyond technique—it cultivates professional growth, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt Pilates exercises safely and effectively for a wide range of clients. Whether building your teaching practice or advancing personal mastery, Polestar Pilates Mentorship at Embodied Presence provides a structured, evidence-based, and inspiring environment to grow as a confident, capable Pilates professional with a deeper sense of embodiment.
Exams in the Polestar Pilates program are designed to assess both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. They ensure that practitioners have mastered movement principles, alignment, and teaching methodology according to Polestar’s evidence-based standards. Exams may include demonstrations, written assessments, and teaching practice, providing a structured way to validate competency and readiness for professional practice.
